Expertise

I am a a multidisciplinary geologist who has developed a strong two-folds expertise in petrology/mineralogy and analytical geochemistry. I  pursue research in the area of fundamental petrochronology and its applications.

My current research involves (not limited to):

  • Petrogenesis and scale of equilibrium in metamorphic rocks. Development of iterative thermodynamic models (programs: Bingo-Antidote & GRTMOD)
  • Quantitative compositional mapping to analyse the compositional variability of major and trace elements in rocks by EPMA and LA-ICP-MS. Development and improvement of XMapTools software
  • Thermodynamic properties and models of complex solid solutions; kinetics and phase equilibria; oxygen fractionation modelling
  • Micro-dating techniques: LA-ICP-MS and SIMS measurements (U-Th-Pb, allanite, monazite and zircon)
  • Geodynamic and structural evolution of orogenic belts: Internal western Alps (Briançonnais, Sesia and Liguro-Piémontais zones) and Himalaya (Western syntaxe)
